And I think that is the main problem it has. It tells the same story, but better.
Being better does not mean that it still has its narrative problems. It fixes some but not all, it eliminates parts of dialogue that were very well executed, but they reach the same situation.
On other occasions it adds new scenes but they did not contribute anything to me, but its risk in creating something new is appreciated.
Knowing what it offers, the final part of the Tusken surprised me how well it is implemented and has a better result than the original with the end of Reva.
I missed the second rescue of Leia in the fortress of the Inquisition (chapter 4). I found that part abrupt, since it is justified with a line of dialogue...
It also keeps scenes that seem unnecessary to me, like Leia's cousin, the chases that run after her, whether in Alderaan or in Daiyu.
It is appreciated that it added music from the saga, some composed by Samuel Kim, that gives more emotion and puts you more into the film, you feel that it is the Star Wars universe, not like the original series. But, I have the feeling that it could be better executed... "Opinion as an editor"
Conclusion: Old Ben Kenobi takes many brave risks that differentiate it from the rest and the original series itself. Don't be fooled by my final assessment, I recommend you watch it.
I think it is one of the best versions of Obi-Wan Kenobi that I have seen.
