Review:
The Acolyte: Episode II - A Tale of Two Sides I've been a huge fan of MR for awhile now and from what I've watched of his projects I must say this is the best. To create this masterpiece from the nonsensical mess of the original series is truly incredible. I couldn't stand the twins and with this edit Osha is my favourite character. Think about that ? Pip droid is a revelation and brings so much to the narrative especially for Oshe, " Did you see the red lightsaber, I didn't know they came in that colour " ????. Awesome. The Sith Eyes captured the essence of the dark side and All's ability to hold his own and bested Smilo Ren at times truly emphasised his development and power as a Jedi Master. I'm astounding and in shock at 2 am in the morning at what I've just watched and I need to watch this several more times over the next couple of weeks . I m waffling as I'm knackered ha ha. Wonderful work MR , your the master. ?

The Acolyte - Episode II: A Tale of Two Sides — Review A/V Quality While it is difficult to determine with a streaming copy there were no obvious insufficient bitrate or compression artifacts detected in my viewing of The Acolyte - Episode II: A Tale of Two Sides. It plays exactly as one would expect of an official release. The Aurebesh warning message, red-graded title sequences, and even a trailer for another project are fun touches that greatly enhanced the overall viewing experience. 10 out of 10 Audio Editing The audio elements of an edit can elevate an otherwise mediocre project or just as quickly dismantle the most carefully crafted visuals. In this edit the overall audio quality is consistently high. There were no major synchronization or clarity issues—nothing that sounded of low quality or was improperly or poorly mixed. The only aspect that sounded off is a series of steps starting around 31:23 that have some sort of comb filtering causing a slight, phase-y sound that is somewhat distracting. Perhaps it’s as simple as a track segment that was duplicated and ever so slightly offset? 9 out of 10 Visual Editing It’s no small feat to sift through 8 episodes worth of content and distill it into a seamless, feature-length presentation in such a way that it does not readily betray its hacked together nature. With a few exceptions that may never bother another soul save myself that is exactly what this edit has achieved. 8.7 out of 10 Narrative This is honestly some kind of magic trick or minor miracle. Is it my favorite Star Wars thing ever? Certainly not. But it’s got the goods, so to speak. It is a smartly focused narrative that is engaging throughout. The characterizations and motivations are clear and logical and the handling of the various threads all the way through to the epilogue feels very intentional. 10 out of 10 Enjoyment The fact that I can enjoy this at all after the disappointment of the initial release is a testament to the value of fan editing as a whole. On some basic level it brings joy. It’s like the fulfillment of a promise. That is what I’m chasing when I seek out a particular edit and this particular edit—delivers. 10, 11, no 20 out of 10 Overall Score 11.54 out of 10 (that’s just the math; I don’t make the rules)

I loved this edit and i hated the show. How is that even possible? The twins were great, sol deeply troubled and imbalanced and a cunning sith to taje it all away. I cant wait to rewatch it again!

Review:
A Better Experience in Every Way! I was not a fan of the Acolyte when it came out. I thought is was slowly paced, had poor acting for the most part, and I had a difficult time connecting with any of the characters. This edit changes all of that. This edit shows how truly bloated that the series was. The scenes that were cut are not missed, and the faster pace serves the story and characters so much better. One of the most notable changes is one of the best. I loved the added voice for PIP. This made the droid more of an actual character in the show, and even helped me connect with Osha. I thought the voice sounded familiar, and I'm glad that I checked the credits to confirm my suspicion. I won't spoil it here though, but it was an excellent choice. When I finished my one and only viewing of the actual series I thought that it was something that I would never revisit. I will definitely be watching this edit again in the future. MR did a fantastic job overall.

Review:
This was a fun edit. I never saw a trailer when watching an edit before. It made watching the edit feel more like a cinematic experience. *Spoilers in review* The video quality was mostly fine, but I always notice compression when streaming videos on Google Drive versus watching the file without streaming. The picture quality is not as sharp. This could be related to the devices I am using, but I am not sure. Most people would not notice the difference. Both audio and visual editing are flawless. Loved the additions of sith eyes and droid dialogue. We have a bot with an attitude that adds to other loveable droids in the Star Wars universe. Pip is my favorite character! When looking at narrative improvements, there's simply too much to list. Here are a few: - The opening crawl was beautiful. Great job. It removed the spoiler about the upcoming empire and the timeline leaving things more vague. - Cutting Mae's assassination of Indara was correct. It spoiled the identity/mystery immediately. Also, the fight between them felt too much like the Matrix versus Star Wars. - Moving the Plageuis cameo to that spot in the movie was perfect. Excellent way to tie in to the rest of the Star Wars universe. - Removing most flashbacks was correct. Characters tell us through dialogue everything needed. Also, flashbacks had weaker content anyway. - Removing silly moments and haphazard "acting." We have a good narrative that is rewatchable. I have some differences for what I consider unnecessary material\filler and narrative differences. These are nitpicks that don't take away from the job well done. Timestamps are rough. FILLER -17: (lost timestamp). Remove Jecki strange criticism of "Yord being Yord". It was an incoherent argument against choosing him for the mission. - (no timestamp): cut Mae saying "Oshy" when she sees Osha for the first time. A shocked silent reaction is more powerful. - 51: Opening wookie Jedi scene was pointless. 58: I'd remove beaver arguing with Pip. Slows pacing down and childish. Talk between Osha and Jecki followed by Osha telling Yord they had a comprehensive briefing all pointless. The last portion of the scene can be removed without sacrificing. 59: opening Kalnacca you can remove Jecki asking the guy about the "big hairy wookie" and jump straight to her informing the Jedi of his location. Same information quicker. NARRATIVE JEDI AGE 9:30 I'd remove age as factor for Jedi opposition against training Osha. This was a bad concept introduced in Phantom Menace that small kids can't be trained. It makes the Jedi look like a cult. Sol brings this up again around the 2:13 mark. JEDI VS SENATE FEUD I didn't like the subplot with Vernestra and the senate. In this time period we shouldn't have the Jedi and senate going at each other. It distracts from the core story. The Jedi should not be corrupt now. Flaws are okay, but they should not be portrayed as scumbags. I'd remove all of this. 14:30: Vernestra whispering to Sol to convict Osha regardless of evidence and establish a cover up. 1:41:35: discussion with Vernestra over senate review of Jedi. 1:56:50 - Vernestra discussing with Senator the murder investigation hidden from the senate. Senator talks about jedi snapping in a blatant spoiler about Vader. 2:35:05 - Vernestra informs Mae Sol killed her mom. Then, her explanation in front of a Senate tribunal. She again tells Mae Sol is bad. Maybe remove trashing Sol or tone it down. TORBIN SUICIDE 36:30 Remove discussion over Torbin's suicide, sign of struggle. I may be missing something, but the suicide is out of place in the edit. MIND READING\WIPE\CONTROL These concepts are foreign to Star Wars except for Kylo in the sequels. I was not a fan of that nor do I like anybody having this power. It creates plot holes and contradictions. If you have this power, why not use it all the time? Also, the Jedi sense feelings, not thoughts. Those are similar, but different. 40:33 Cut Qimir mentioning memory wipe. 46:20 cut Sol mind reading for Mae's master. 1:14: Qimir mentions reading of thoughts. 2:20 - in the flashback sequence you can cut out when we get to the mind control and jump to Sol running inside. Mind control from anyone in Star Wars creates lore issues as we never see this from witches. 2:30:50 - remove Qimir mentioning removal of memories. Do something like where it shows him causing her head trauma to wipe out memories. OTHER ISSUES 1:23:53: Qimir says Jedi like you call me Sith. Sol asks why risk discovery? You can jump straight to Sol asking "what do you want?" I think publicity of the Sith is too early here. 2:11 Sol talks about the force creating Osha and Mae. I would remove mentioning the force to keep things more ambiguous. Have him saying this was something to do with planet can be vague enough. ----- Thanks for sharing! I recommend others to watch this. We have a mediocre show turned into a good movie.

Review:
ACOLYTLE I hated this show with a passion. was so bored and felt like it was a cringe fest. but MR pulled of a miracle, making this highly enjoyable mystery adventure and very fun star warsy feel to it. The master stroke of genius was adding a voice to PIP who became what was more like a gadget in original than a droid to a full on great memorable character. my only gripe was cutting trinity Jedi death at beginning, as when she appears at end in fight flashback with wookie its a bit jarring as we never seen her before. I would have like just a few small snippets of flashbacks sprinkled throughout. but withstanding that, i have watched this edit 4 times now and i'm still blown away by how MR turned this garbage into a highly enjoyable star wars movie.
