Synopsis:
Kirk is convinced to take Spock's living spirit back to Vulcan...to do so he risks his and his entire crew's careers. Even if their mission to the unstable planet Genesis, the final resting place of their friend, is a success, the punishment for their disobedience awaits them...
Intentions:
Another one of those edits where most of the changes come towards the end. As a fun experiment, this is all of Star Trek III, only it's had material from Star Trek IV added to it. There is no mystery probes, no humpback whales, and no time travel to the 80s. Kirk and Company make a relatively short voyage home (hence the title), get pardoned (for stopping the Klingons, not for saving the earth), and set sail on new voyages in a new Enterprise.
Change List:
A great benefit of having the European edition of Star Trek IV is I can make use of the pre-tiltes recap to get us from the doomed Genesis to Vulcan without dragging the movie out with Spock's katra ceromoney To give the Klingons more of an alien prescience , I turned off their subtitles
