In fact the removal of Ned’s first attempt creates a continuity error in the final release version which in this extended version is corrected. I relally hope you enjoy this version which in my view is one of the greatest noirs ever made. WB never mention how much the film owes to Double Indemnity, as if Warner Bros. doesn’t want viewers to know and spoil the greatest noir ever made.
