Synopsis:
"YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!" is iconic. It's an awesome punchline to a very good movie. But not an awesome movie. To fix that, this edit remedies many legal inaccuracies, improves the pacing, and makes the hero more likable and the heroine less inept.

Intentions:
An online review by two lawyers made me realize that my enthusiasm to rewatch the movie is largely tempered by the legal moments that break my suspension of disbelief. I cut as much as possible of the points they criticize (Tom Cruise and Kevin Bacon still walk around the courtroom and don't formally submit items for evidence, but there's no solution to that without access to the master files). While doing that, I trimmed moments that needlessly made Cruise unlikable, Moore less competent, or were simple filler. The result is a faster-paced, legally more accurate courtroom drama.

- Used the 4K blu-ray as source (converted to 1080p and BT.709 colorspace using Handbrake). - Lots of trims and cuts (19 minutes) to a) legal inaccuracies, b) moments where Cruise was needlessly annoying, c) moments where Moore was needlessly imcompetent, d) filler shots that didn't advance the story. - One scene was shifted in the timeline (a flashback now opens the movie, making it play chronological). - Sound replacement around one transition (using Freesound.org 's excellent archive). - Subtitles edited accordingly.
