Synopsis:
Ex-Blade Runner lured back into one last job to terminate four replicants that escaped enslavement and are now on earth where they're illegal. Things don't go as planned in this thought provoking sci-fi noir classic.
Intentions:
To make the best version of the film with voice over available.
This voice over is completely different from the theatrical version, since while I used some of the theatrical voice over. I used a lot of alternate(& better) takes and even re-cut some of the theatrical voice over(or removed entirely like the "sushi" reference voice over). And it really enhances the movie better than ever now as a hard boiled sci-fi film noir movie.
Change List:
First change is the alternate Tears in the Rain credit sequence.
Voice over changes are too numerous to list. One difference is the Egyptian scene where I used voice over from the deleted scenes in place of the dialogue used in all released versions. I also greatly cut down the original voice over used during Batty's death scene. So now you get the beginning of the voice over("I don't know why he..."), delete the redundant explaining everything to the audience portion, then goes into "I watched him die".
Both Holden in the hospital scenes inserted.
Extended sex scene by 2 seconds with nice transition.
Zhora death scene has inserts from The Final Cut with Joanna Cassidy in place of the badly made up stunt double.
Inserted shot of nail being shoved through Batty's hand.
"I want more life father" take used vs "fucker".
Moved "happy ending" to after the end credits. Used alternate voice over/take of the sequence that keeps it ambiguous.
Additional Notes:
1982 R rated versions of the death scenes kept intact. I find them effective. Originally I was going to use the uncut versions. But Tyrell's death and Pris's death(+ her attack on Deckard) are edited really well in the original cut and feel more powerful to myself.I wouldn't consider this "censorship" since care was taken in the original editing.
Since a 35mm print was used. All bloopers/fixes done to The Final Cut are not in this version(besides Zhora's death scene). So it's a raw original print, "flaws" and all with my own changes made to the film. as described above.
