Synopsis:

Faster, more intense! This edit greatly shortens the runtime of the final Indiana Jones film and uses deliberate micro-cuts to action sequences to up the pace.

Intentions:

This film of all the Indy films has the least amount of action and excitement. This lack of action is made worse by the languid pacing and lack of energy. There are long sections of the film that feel as if they slow to a crawl (most notably, the section with Antonio Banderas on the boat) that keep this film in a low gear, never quite feeling like the bouncy adventure that we expect from our favorite archaeologist. This edit has a mix of large chunks being removed and small micro-cuts to level out the pacing and keep the film moving.

Change List:

- Changed color timing throughout for a more classic look and to remove the "yellow filter". - Replaced all production logos with classic ones for a more old fashioned feel. - The Paramount logo is now last, and transitions into a newly created establishing shot of a castle. - Custom opening credits added over shots of the Nazis leaving the castle. - The opening scene now starts with the Nazis preparing to board the train, greatly shortening the sequence and dropping us into the action faster. - Indy's first appearance is jumping onto the train from a motorcycle. - A lot of business on the train has been trimmed for pacing, and to remove some unconvincing effects. - After the opening sequence, we jump straight to Indy teaching his class in 1969. We lose a lot of that grumpy, intolerable Indy stuff at the beginning. He's now just more sad/bored as opposed to being a jerk. - Parade sequence has many cuts for pacing and avoiding some unconvincing effects. - Removed the flashback to Baz after Indy boards the plane, nothing is learned there that's particularly important and it slows the film down tremendously. - Tuk-Tuk chase trimmed substantially for pacing and (you guessed it) unconvincing effects. - Lots of cuts to the boat/diving section of the film for pacing. - Removed the water puzzle from the tomb to get to the tomb faster. - Lots of cuts to the end sequence. Teddy is less involved and does not have a random stowaway, and the weird focus on various soldiers is removed to stick mainly with Indy, Voller and Helena.
