Synopsis:

TV-to-movie taking the arc of Chris and Paulie throughout season 3. Starting with Chris becoming a made man, which turns out to be a more difficult life than he expected, bringing him into conflict with his mentor Paulie. The friction between them continues to build until reaching boiling point in classic episode ‘Pine Barrens’ when they spend a night lost in the forest.

Intentions:

This edit faithfully follows the story as it plays out in the series. Nothing at all is changed about the featured storyline, it has just been separated from the other storylines happening at the same time, and retains the style and feel of The Sopranos. The point of this project isn’t for me to add my own creative slant to the material, but rather to allow fans to rewatch classic stories in a straightforward and efficient way, rather than seeing the story play out bit-by-bit spread across 13 hours of TV.

This edit focuses on storylines from 3 episodes: s3e03 “Fortunate son” (17 mins) — Chris becomes a made man, and finds that he might have bitten off more than he can chew, struggling to keep up with the demands of playing in the big leagues, and causing tension between him and Paulie, his captain and mentor. s3e07 “Second opinion” (10 mins) — Paulie continues to put pressure on Chris, overstepping the line from professional to personal. s3e11 “Pine Barrens” (48 mins) — Things go awry when Paulie and Chris are tasked with making a routine pickup of some money from a drunk Russian. One thing leads to another, and soon they are fighting for their lives when lost in a forest in mid-winter. Meanwhile, Tony attempts to conduct his affair with Gloria, as the two storylines intertwine. In addition to the main feature, there are fully redone opening and closing credits with correct actor names for the feature, and a custom HBO opening ident.
