Synopsis:

When a recently divorced mother and her two teenage boys move to a coastal town to stay with her father, it doesn't take long for the brothers to realize the area is a haven for something much more sinister than party-going surfers.

Intentions:

I've made many alterations to give the film a more even tone & a quicker pulse. Several moments have been streamlined to keep things moving along in style. The Frog Brothers have been calmed down in order to make them more tolerable. Some redundant moments & continuity errors have been removed & reduced. Some music changes create better mood while a set of new sound effects bring extra punch to the audio & amplify the ambience. A new post-credits shot brings us back to the boardwalk.

CHANGES: PRODUCTION CREDITS- -added the fanedit.org logo. -added my fanedit production logo. -shorter Warner Bros. logo. -increased the volume of the singing. AT THE BOARDWALK- -re-timed things so that the titles fade-in & disappear on beat. -removed some sound effects as the camera passes over the water. -changed the speed of a short shot so we match back up with the audio. -shorter cross-fade from David to the wide shot of the boardwalk. -re-timed shots of lights turning off to match the beat of the music. CONCERT AT THE PIER- -switched two shots of Michael as he & Star look at each other. -reversed a shot of Michael so he shyly looks away from Star. AT THE COMIC BOOK SHOP- -cut the lies about "Batman #14." -added Alan's "There's our number on the back" from a scene cut later. CAR TROUBLE- -cut some of the girl laughing at the comic book. -the couple don't make-out as long before the roof is ripped off. -the roof is ripped off the car faster. -augmented the score with the track Drink. -cut the goofy sound effects after the couple is attacked. -longer transition into the next scene. TAKE A RIDE WITH GRANDPA- -the track Drink fades-out. -increased the volume on Sam's "What a weird-o, man." -extended the final shot of Sam. -the track Good Times by INXS begins as the scene ends. PRESSURE FROM THE FROG BROTHERS- -cut this entire redundant scene. MEETING NEW PEOPLE- -shortened a shot where David can be seen speaking with no audio. -added a tone as David repeats Star's name. THE UNDERGROUND LAIR- -cut some of David talking Michael into having some food. -added a tone as Michael sees maggots instead of rice. -added a tone as Michael sees worms instead of noodles. -cut Star's "That's enough." -augmented the score with the track Untitled as the bottle is produced. -shortened a shot of David offering Michael the bottle. -David's "Be one on us" is over a shot of Michael. -the track Untitled ends as David takes a drink. AT THE BRIDGE- -cut Michael asking "What's going on?" & all the ensuing goofing. -shortened a shot of the group walking across the bridge. -added various footstep sounds. -added rumble as Michael's fingers slip. -added sounds as Michael falls through the mist. -shortened the montage of Michael falling. -added rumble as Michael lands on his bed. CALLING THE FROG BROTHERS- -cut the back n' forth about symptoms. -cut the silly bit about bad breath. -cut the bit about garlic. DANCIN' ON THE CEILING- -cut a shot from Michael's POV. -added additional bumping, rumbling & clattering sounds. -Michael doesn't knock the phone off until after Sam answers it. -cut Sam's "The Flying Nun?" after "So what are ya?" MICHAEL TAKES OFF- -removed Grandpa's silly horn sounds. STAYING IN MOM'S ROOM- -cut Sam having garlic under his robe. MAX & THE BOYS- -lowered the volume of the music sting when the kite lands on Max -added rumble as the kite lands on Max. MICHAEL GOES TO THE LAIR- -cut a shot of Star watching Michael. -cut Michael breaking the wine bottle. -removed the lead vocals from the music. -shortened Star & Michael's make-out montage. -new sounds as we pass over & through the clouds. MAX COMES FOR DINNER- -cut Michael inviting Max in. -the sound of the door closing is over a shot of Grandpa watching. -shortened the shot of Max entering the house as Grandpa watches. -Lucy's "I didn't know you were having guests" begins on an earlier shot. -shortened a shot of Lucy & Max. -cut the bit about "bad breath" & Lucy sending Nanook away. STAR VISITS MICHAEL- -cut Sam injecting "Who's David?" -cut Sam injecting "You drank someone's blood? Are you crazy?" PREPARING FOR BATTLE- -cut the Frog Bros. asking where Michael is when they get to the house. -cut the Frog Bros. "Weapon check" at the Underground entrance. -cut Sam's "Even though you're a vampire, you're still my brother." -cut the Frog Bros. threatening to stake Michael if he starts to turn. SEARCHING THE VAMPIRE'S LAIR- -cut Edgar's "Vampire's have such rotten tempers." -cut Edgar's "Flies & the undead go together like bullets & guns." GRANDPA ARRIVES- -cut Grandpa's horn before it goes all goofy. -cut a shot of Michael before Grandpa rams into the house. -added rumble as Max is destroyed. AFTERMATH- -removed Edgar's "We kicked their ass, man." -cut Edgar asking Alan "How much should we charge for this?" -cut Lucy asking "Are you alright?" as she approaches Grandpa. -an instrumental version of People Are Strange begins as Grandpa speaks. -new sounds as Grandpa closes the refrigerator door. -re-timed the final shot of Lucy, Michael & Sam. -the final shot cuts abruptly as Grandpa shuts the refrigerator door. Additional Notes:

I tried to stick to the original style set by Robert Brown. My changes are extensive, but I didn't want anything to seem obviously altered.
