Synopsis:

This edit of Batman Returns is a sequel to my edit of Batman (89). Long story short, I always felt Batman Returns dragged... a lot. While I loved Devito's portrayal of Penguin, the sub plots of him searching for his parents, assembling the list of Gotham's first born kids, and the Mayor sub plot pulled the film down. Batman/Bruce Wayne felt like a supporting player in his own movie. The same could be said of Catwoman. While her scenes and plots were generally more interesting than Penguin's, I still felt like it lingered a bit too much on her. This edit hopes to fix these issues...

Intentions:

So, that said, the attempt of this edit is to remove the sub plots of Penguin searching for his parents and the first born kids. I toyed with entirely removing the Mayor sub plot, but I instead opted to simply minimize it. While some of the humor was good, some of it was a bit over the top or, frankly, out of place. So that was trimmed down too. And the penguins' attack is gone.

Change List:

There are too many to really mention. 34 minutes were removed. Hopefully this keeps a tighter pace. And the penguin attack is gone.
