Synopsis:
"Resident Evil: Nemesis" is a reedit of "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" that changes the colour grading, shortens lines, and shortens scenes, making it a tight, enjoyable film.
Intentions:
This edit is a remake of the original edit of "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" because I wasn't happy with the final result and thought the colour grading and sound mixing weren't good.
Notably, the sound mixing is because I used the music from the first three games of "Resident Evil," which works with some scenes in the film. However, the original music of the Apocalypse is mixed with the centre channel, meaning you can slightly hear the original music in the dialogue. But now, with this new edit, I leave the original music intact.
Change List:
I added new colour grading to the film.
I added the opening texts and the ending from the first film at the beginning of the film.
I removed a lot of bad dialogue and shortened some scenes.
Completely remove the whole sequence of Umbrella taking their important people away from Raccoon City because we are told about this later on in the film, and it doesn't create a plot hole of Angela Ashford going missing after her security car is involved in a collision.
I added two alternative scenes to the film. The two alternative scenes are "Gate Scene" and "Dogs in the Kitchen."
Remove all the Licker versions during the church scenes.
Remove the fight scene in the graveyard scene and the priest feeding his zombified sister.
Remove all mentions that Matt is Nemesis.
Additional Notes:
When I was editing this project, I did take some inspiration from "Aztek46's Biohazard: A Resident Evil Fanedit."
Other Sources:
I used for this project both extended and theatrical cuts of the film. The main difference between the two cuts is that the extended cut has some deleted scenes put back into the film.
Special Thanks:
Thank you to u/etbiludecalcinha for providing feedback on the earlier cut of my edit and thank you to u/Sonny_Bauer for using the idea of "Jill Valentine Blows up the Kitchen."
