Synopsis:

Thor enlists the help of Valkyrie, Korg and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster to fight Gorr the God Butcher, who intends to make the gods extinct.

Intentions:

When I watch just a one off movie, and it's bad, I just don't ever watch that movie again. But, if I see a movie that is part of a franchise that I love, and it is bad, I feel like I need to fix that movie and make it fit into my rewatches of the series. The latest, Thor: Love and Thunder. This is my attempt to make Thor: Love and Thunder a decent Thor movie, by removing a lot of the over-the-top silliness. Removing the strange relationship between Thor and Stormbreaker. Removing a LOT of the screaming by the goats (but not all, because it is funny in smaller doses). Stopping some jokes earlier… there are some good jokes in this, but they just drag on too long. Moving the Jane reveal to later. We now find out that Jane is Mighty Thor, and that she has cancer, at the same time that Thor does. And less Korg as just a face.

Change List:

- The movie opens the same, with the scenes with Gorr, then... - 6:40 I used the old-style Marvel fanfare from the first Iron Man. - Removed the visual of Korg sitting around the fire telling the story. -- The reason for the old fanfare was the length, and for the page flipping sound effect it has (the page flipping fits here because Korg is telling a story). -- I didn’t want to show Korg with his whole body since it gets destroyed later in the movie (and this scene takes place after the events of this movie). We’re left not knowing if Korg ever gets his body back after this movie. - 9:15 Removed Thor flying on Stormbreaker like a witch’s broom. - 11:00 Removed Thor’s robe landing on King Yakan’s head. - 12:10 Removed Thor doing the splits. - 12:40 Removed the temple collapsing. - 12:50 Removed Jane finding out she has cancer (moved to later). - 16:00 The scene of Jane getting Mjolnir is split into two, and I hid her face, so it is a surprise reveal later. - 16:30 Removed Thor and Yakan’s back and forth about destroying the temple. - 16:55 Removed the scene with the goats on the Milano (the Guardians ship) and removed Kraglin and his wife. This whole scene is chaos and terrible. - 20:00 Turned down the volume on some goat screams and removed a bunch more. - 20:55 Removed Thor telling Lady Sif about not going to Valhalla. Just let her think she is, man. - 25:25 Removed the flashback to Thor and Jane’s past. - 30:20 Removed Stormbreaker being jealous of Mjolnir. - 31:30 Removed Thor talking to Stormbreaker like a person. - 32:30 Removed Thor and Axl arguing about Axl’s name being Axl. - 33:10 Removed a large chunk of Thor, Axl and the children’s conversation in the cage in the shadow realm, about Thor putting together a team. - 34:40 Removed more talking to Stormbreaker. - 35:30 Removed Thor talking to Mjolnir like a person. - 36:10 Removed Stormbreaker being creepy and jealous of Mjolnir. - 36:20 Removed the flashback of Jane as a child and her mother dying. Inserted the scene of Jane finding out she has cancer (the scene that was removed from earlier). Removed the guy reading Jane’s book while getting chemo. - 40:00 Removed a big chunk of the conversation with Val and Jane about being packed (no Bluetooth speaker). - 40:30 Removed goat screams when arriving at Omnipotence City. - 44:30 and 45:00 Removed the Dumpling God. - 49:15 Removed the “We’ll go on my signal.” “What’s the signal?” “The signal is go.” That whole gag. This is an old joke that has been done too much. - 49:30 Removed the close-up of Thor’s Loki tattoo. - 50:30 Removed Zeus’ skirt flip. - 51:45 Removed Zeus’ dance and tricks that he does with Thunderbolt. - 53:15 Removed Korg’s “no one said go” line that is a call back to the previously removed joke. - 55:15 Removed Korg’s multiple attempts to whistle for the goats. - 55:25-56:10 Goat screams, lowered the volume on some, removed a bunch, and kept some here. - 56:50 Removed most of the nose tickle joke. Originally, I was going to remove this completely, but it is kind of funny, it just goes on way too long. - 57:20 This scene is completely reworked. I removed Stormbreaker being jealous of Thunderbolt, Thor giving him a beer and that whole conversation. - 58:00 Removed Korg singing and talking to Val about his dads and stuff. The less face-only Korg the better. - 1:01:40 Removed more face-only Korg talking. - 1:02:10 Removed the goats screaming as they crash into the shadow realm planet. - 1:10:20 Removed the goats screaming and saving face-only Korg. - 1:12:00 Removed the goats screaming. - 1:19:10 Removed Thor giving the kids the power of Thor “for a limited time only”. - 1:22:20 Removed more Thor talking to Stormbreaker like a person. - 1:22:50 Removed Jane’s “First off, my name is The Mighty Thor. Secondly, I’ll accept Dr. Jane Foster, and thirdly….” This was supposed to be a cool woman power moment, but I don’t think it works at all. It just takes me out of the bad ass fight they are having. - 1:23:00 Removed more Thor talking to Stormbreaker like a person. - 1:32:40 Removed Korg and Dewayne. We’re left not knowing if Korg ever gets his body back after this movie.
