Synopsis:

To escape from his dull life and bullies at school, Bastian takes refuge in an old book store. There, he begins reading an old storybook and finds himself drawn into the mythical world of Fantasia.

Intentions:

Preserving the color timing of the original movie(the current Blu-ray releases has a heavy warm yellow tint) with some scenes from the extended cut to retain some of the darker moments.

Change List:

- the movie now begins with a dark screen (representing The Nothing) and the voice of the Childlike Empress saying " In the beginning, it is always dark" while the opening score from the extended version is playing in the background. Once the score is about to end it will transition to the opening credits of the American version. - extended opening of Bastian waking up and opening his book. - extended scene with Bastian and his father. - added shot of Mr. Coreander staying silent after Bastian says "I don't know" to him. - German version of the book is used when Bastian reveals the book under the newspaper. - extended shot of Mr. Coreander on the phone and Bastian running away off-screen. - extended shot of Bastian entering the school hall. - added scene with school janitor interrupting Bastian in the attic while he's reading the book. - Swamp bubbles appeared at the spot where Artax sank. - music from the German version is used when Atréju is grieving for Artax. - extended scene of Bastian turning around and taking his stuff after the storm arrives. - added a frontal shot close-up shot of Gmork after failing to capture Atréju. - extended scene of Urgl talking to Atréju about the ingredients in the soup. - fixed an annoying pop sound when Atréju approaches the Mirror Gate (appears in every version) - added some translucency effects when Atréju enters the Mirror Gate so it looks a lot more convincing. - Atréju offering help to Gmork. - Gmork talking about stalking Atréju and feeling too weak at the moment followed by Atréju taunting back at it. - extended shot of Bastian walking back to the book after running away from it. - added the extended scene where Atréju ask the Childlike Empress what would happen if Bastian doesn't come up with the right name.
