Synopsis:
The landing sequence in First Man (2019) is almost perfectly accurate to the real Apollo 11 landing event, aside from a couple of minor timing issues. This edit attempts to sync up the dramatized landing with actual landing footage and audio taken from the documentary Apollo 11 (2019), as well as making the whole sequence even more exciting with Hans Zimmer's incredible soundtrack from Interstellar (2014).

Intentions:
This is a rather short project (runtime: ~6 mins), that I mainly used as a bridge to switch from Premiere to Resolve. When I decided it was time for a switch, I thought I would give this project that's been kickin' around in my head for a while a try. Plus, I'm obsessed with Space, NASA, and everything in between!

Editing Details: I used the documentary as a baseline and then spliced the clips from the biopic on top of it. Getting the timing right was difficult. What was even more difficult was fixing the audio. I had to redo all the sound effects by matching them to the best of my ability. It was a fun challenge. Cuts and Additions: Changes: -Spliced together landing sequence from First Man and Apollo 11 so they line up historically (using the documentary as a baseline, as it unfolds in real time) -Removed all audio from the First Man footage and replaced it with newly sourced audio for sound effects. -Added previously mentioned removed dialogue back in, overlayed with real audio from the documentary -Replaced score with two tracks from Interstellar
