Synopsis:
Based on the popular video game of the same name, an Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure team works alongside with an undercover security operator suffering from amnesia named Alice must break into "The Hive," a vast underground genetics laboratory operated by the powerful Umbrella Corporation. There, a deadly virus has been unleashed, killing the lab's personnel and resurrecting them as the evil Un-dead. The team has just three hours to shut down the lab's supercomputer and close the facility before the virus threatens to overrun the Earth.
Intentions:
This Resident Evil fanedit is a mash-up of the 2002 Resident Evil movie, The Keeper's Diary: A Biohazard Tale and Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City connecting all three stories into one. For the part concerning Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, only scenes with Chris and the S.T.A.R.S team at the Spencer mansion is used including voices and sound effects from the original 1996 Resident Evil game and the Resident Evil Remake. The internal monologue for the Keeper from The Keeper's Diary has been removed and the virus outbreak is now connected with the 2002 Resident Evil movie.With the release of the Keeper's Diary and the original Resident Evil games at GOG recently, it's good to revisit the franchise again for any fanedit ideas.
Change List:
- the movie now begins at the Arklay Forest before showing the Spencer mansion hidden within the woods.
- This is followed up by the scene with the Keeper with another scientist and Wesker himself testing the Hunter's behavioral pattern. Part of The Keeper's monologue during scene has been turned into a conversation with Wesker. Spence For Lunch track is used for the background music.
- Right after the Hunter screams, it cuts to an elevator scene from Welcome to Raccoon City.
- Replaced the Hunter's final scream with the one in the RE: Remake. It now cuts to Alice walking up the stairs heading to the counter in a large hall at Umbrella HQ and greeted by the Red Queen. Deleted scene from the 2002 Resident Evil movie is used here with Alice's monologue removed. White Queen's voice clips from Resident Evil: Extinction is used for the Red Queen's voice. The movie now cuts to the opening of the 2002 RE movie. Supplementary Soundscapes and Dock Snooping music track from 2002 Resident Evil movie is used for the introduction of Alice.
- After the Umbrella staff is checking on the barking dogs, the scene now shifts to the Spencer mansion showing the place is powering down. The Keeper in a Hazmat suit enters the dog pen and checking what is going on with the dogs before cutting back the the Umbrella staff trapped inside the elevator and panicking.
- After the Umbrella staff in the office has been gassed, the scene cuts to the Keeper sleeping before been awakened by sounds of gunshots. The Keeper opens the door only for one of the Umbrella Security Service officer Scott ordering him to stay inside the room. We now return to the the Umbrella staff trapped inside the elevator trying to find a way out.
- Right after one of the staff's head is crushed by the elevator door, the scene shifts to Scott checking on The Keeper who has now turned into a zombie. Scott is then killed by The Keeper and it now cuts to Alice waking up in the bathroom. Keeper's monologue removed.
- Removed the scene with Alice bouncing off the wall and kicking the zombie dog.
- After Alice has been captured and sent to the research facility for testing, we now cut to the scene with Chris and the S.T.A.R.S team inside the helicopter flying above the Arklay forest. All the scenes from Welcome to Raccoon City has been edited to closely resemble the events of the game.
- Inside the helicopter, we see close up of Jill's eyes. Jill's scene from The Keeper's Diary is used for this small part. Wesker's lower part of his face is shown
- Jill's voice from the original 1996 RE game saying " Look Chris!" can be heard when Chris is looking down at a burning RPD vehicle from above.
- After showing the closeup of the overturned police star, we now cut to S.T.A.R.S outside the mansion entrance
- Replaced all sound effects and background music with S.T.A.R.S team at the Spencer mansion. Sister Lisa and track from the 2002 RE movie is used. Sound effects from the zombie dogs in the 1996 RE game intro can be heard from a distant when the S.T.A.R.S team is approaching the entrance.
- A clip of Jill lock picking the main entrance door. part of Jill's lock picking scene from The Keeper's Diary is used here as well as the sound of the door opening from the original 1996 RE game.
- Once the team got inside, a gunshot is heard. Wesker order Chris to check out the location of the gunshot. Gun shot sound effect and voice clips of both Chris and Wesker from RE: Remake is used here. Matt and Alice track from the 2002 RE movie is used for the background score.
- Chris and another S.T.A.R.S team member split up after the walk up the stairs.
- The scene now cuts to Jill opening a door and walking down the corridor before lock picking the door to The Keeper's room. the sound of the door opening from the original 1996 RE game.
- Scene now shifts back to Chris walking alone in the dark corridors before stumbling into his first encounter with a zombie.
- After Chris shot the zombie, we now cut to Jill successfully lock picking the door.
- Upon discovering the zombified corpse of The Keeper, the scene fades to black and Alice wakes up.
