Synopsis:
Prologue:
There is a new opening crawl containing the following text: “The GALACTIC EMPIRE has fallen. With the heroics of the young Jedi EZRA BRIDGER, both he and the formidable GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN have vanished into intergalactic space. While many presume both to be dead, Imperial sympathizer MORGAN ELSBETH claims to have felt a calling from the GRAND ADMIRAL, thus initiating a scheme to return her ally from his exile. The return of THRAWN would galvanize other IMPERIAL REMNANTS, leading to another GALACTIC CIVIL WAR. Meanwhile, former Jedi Knight AHSOKA TANO, in her own search for the missing EZRA BRIDGER, stumbles upon a fragment of this malevolent plot. As she embarks on her quest to track down the Imperial sympathizer, AHSOKA hopes to find her lost companion while also preventing the return of a sinister adversary.”
The edit begins with The Mandalorian: Chapter 13, but it contains only the relevant Ahsoka scenes; these scenes include Ahsoka’s ambush on the village and her fight with Morgan Elsbeth
The Ahsoka title card appears at the end of the prologue
Intentions:
The purpose of this edit was to trim down the Ahsoka series into a cohesive movie. This was accomplished by removing lots of filler scenes. In addition, I have made a few changes to the plot to address some of the criticisms with the series. Overall, the story is mostly the same. The final runtime is approximately 3.5 hours.
Below is a concise list of every change I've made, and I have bolded all significant scene changes and/or removals. I have also split the list into chapters for your convenience. Thanks for watching.
Change List:
Part 1:
The establishing shot of the spacecraft is rescored with Kevin Kiner’s “Assassin Ambush”
The captain no longer allows the mysterious ship on board; instead, Baylan and Shin are already attacking the vessel
Added alarm sound for a smooth transition
Removed most of Ahsoka’s scenes inside the temple; this includes her finding the map and fighting Morgan’s assassin droids. Instead, Ahsoka is fleeing the exploding temple
Removed Hera’s line: “They seem to have abilities like you.” She knows what force users are
Shortened Governor Ryder Azadi’s speech; there is no longer an improvisation joke
Removed Sabine’s speeder chase; instead, her first appearance is at the tower
Removed the scene at the wreckage of the temple on Arcana
Sabine’s dream now contains flashbacks from the finale of Star Wars: Rebels
Shortened the scene between Ahsoka and Sabine discussing the map; in this new scene, Ahsoka lets Sabine take the map back to the tower
Removed Ahsoka’s conversation with Hera; Ahsoka no longer complains about Sabine
Shortened the scene of Sabine trying to solve the map
Sabine is no longer stabbed; instead, she gets partially sliced
Part 2:
When Ahsoka asks Sabine where the path on the map begins, Sabine responds with the following AI-generated line: “The Denab System… I think.”
Due of the previous change, the entire Corellia subplot is removed; this means Ahsoka no longer finds the droid in the tower, Hera no longer talks to Sabine via hologram, and Ahsoka and Hera never go to Corellia
Removed the scene of Baylan and Shin arriving on Seatos
Huyang no longer mentions the tracker to account for previous changes
Removed the reveal of the Eye of Sion and Morgan’s conversation with Baylan and Shin
Part 3:
Shortened Sabine’s training with Ahsoka
Removed Hera’s conversation with the Senate Committee
Sabine no longer complains that she doesn’t have the force; her struggling to move the cup tells us everything we need to know
Once again removed Huyang mentioning the tracker
Slightly trimmed the dogfight to account for the previous change
Ahsoka no longer powers down the ship to avoid getting tracked
Baylan no longer tells the guards to hunt down Ahsoka and Sabine
Part 4:
Removed the scene of Sabine trying to contact the fleet
Trimmed Ahsoka and Sabine’s scene while on the ship
Morgan’s guards no longer attack the ship
Removed all shots of the dead guards and added footstep sound effects to account for the previous change (so Ahsoka doesn’t jumpscare Huyang)
Part 5:
Added voices to The World Between Worlds
Removed all scenes of Hera and Jacen looking for Ahsoka; All of the Anakin and Ahsoka scenes are uninterrupted
Removed Hera’s conversation with Mon Mothma
Removed the scene of Captain Teva stalling the fleet
Part 6:
Removed Ahsoka and Huyang’s conversation
Shortened the scene of the Nightsister’s magic orbs escorting Sabine to her cell
Removed some of Thrawn’s long pauses
Removed the scene of Enoch giving Sabine her ride and weapons
Sabine no longer yells at the howler for abandoning her
Shortened Sabine’s encounter with the Noti
Part 7:
Removed Hera’s hearing with the Senate Committee
When Thrawn learns Anakin was Ahsoka’s master, he tells Enoch to open fire because there will be no negotiating with the apprentice of Anakin Skywalker
Due to the previous change, Ahsoka no longer has a force connection to Sabine and Thrawn no longer seeks the help of the Nightsister’s magic to find her; Ahsoka finds Sabine through intuition
The Noti, Ezra, and Sabine no longer see Baylan and Shin from afar
Removed the scene of Thrawn dispatching two gunships; this is already implied in the previous scene
Shortened the pod chase sequence; the pods round up faster
Ahsoka no longer fights Baylan and steals his ride
Due to the previous change, Ezra and Sabine fight Shin and the raiders before Ahsoka leaps from her ship
Removed the shot of Ahsoka jumping off the howler
Part 8:
Thrawn no longer dispatches the TIE fighters; this means Huyang no longer repairs the ship
We no longer see what the Nightsisters do to Morgan; this means we do not see her acquire the Blaze of Talzin, making it a surprise for later
Removed the establishing shot of the ship and the pods
Morgan no longer gives the night troopers their orders; her appearance is still a mystery
There are no more zombie troopers; Thrawn and the Nightsisters head to the Eye of Sion once the fortress is infiltrated, and Morgan stays behind to defend
Sabine no longer pulls the lightsaber to herself; instead, Ezra assists her
Sabine no longer force pushes Ezra to the star destroyer; instead, he makes the jump himself
Sabine no longer responds to Morgan by saying: “Not alone.” She just ignites her lightsaber instead
We don’t see Ezra steal the stormtrooper’s armor; this makes it slightly more surprising when he shows up later
Added “Thrawn’s Web” (Thrawn’s Theme) when he escapes Peridea
Added every directors name to the credits
Color Changes:
Slightly increased the contrast, vibrance, and saturation for the entire movie due to Disney Plus washing out the color
Space and Seatos are now colder
Peridea is warmer and more evil-looking (meant to resemble Dathomir)
